Now Is the Time for Feats of Faith

by Charles Spurgeon

“ . . . and for my arm they wait.” —Isaiah 51:5

In seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his ship is about to capsize, and no human deliverance can avail him, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God.

Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this!
O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone!

8 Aspects of Prayer

8 aspects of prayer - By Jeane Mayo
1. Worship - Worship focuses on magnifying the Lord because of His character…who He is. So choose different parts of His character and worship Him according to some or all of those characteristics. ***Lord, I worship You because of Your FAITHFULNESS.
2. Confession - This is the time in prayer where you honestly confess where you’ve sinned to the Lord. It is important to deal with ATTITUDES and ACTIONS. ***Jesus, I know that what I did yesterday was wrong, and my attitude was worse. Please forgive me.
3. Intercession - Intercession is when you pray for OTHERS. It is important to pray for others, because you may be the only one who does. You can pray for them, their salvation, their needs and growth, etc. One of the most powerful ways to show that you care for someone is to pray for them!
4. Petition - Petition is when you pray for YOURSELF and your OWN NEEDS. There is nothing wrong with praying for yourself. Jesus desires to be our Best Friend who knows the most intimate details of your life. He cares about everything you care about! So remember, you can always talk to Jesus.

The Book of Philippians starts, “PAUL and Timothy, bondservants of Jesus Christ…” Paul was writing to the church at Philippi from the Mamertine prison in Rome. This prison had no beds, no chairs, no toilets, it was just stone walls with chains that shackled the wrists. From this dark and dank cell, Paul wrote the Books of Philippians, Ephesians, and Colossians. Some of the greatest passages in the New Testament came from one of the worst places on Earth.

Show Them the Way

John 10:7-9: Jesus tells us twice in three verses: “I am the door”.  If anyone enters the Kingdom of God they must come through Jesus.  There is no other entrance, way, or name (Acts 4:12; John 14:6).  Every Christian has the responsibility to lead others to God.  Like a doorkeeper, we must show the way to “The Door” (John 10:3).  We can become effective soul winners if we learn from the doorkeeper just how to show others the way.
